Account-Based Marketing has been one of the most preferred B2B strategies for marketers. More than 90% of marketers believe that ABM is essential for the alignment of sales and marketing teams. ABM is all about fostering a better relationship with your target accounts. And especially in this digital transformation era, it’s evident that people aren’t buying products but experiences.
As per a recent PwC survey, “73% of consumers cite customer experience as an important factor in their purchasing decisions”. This shift in consumer behavior is what B2B companies/marketers should take note of. Also, ITSMA reports that of the companies that adopted ABM in the past two years, 55% are seeing a significantly higher ROI than with traditional marketing.
Account-based marketing (ABM) is marketing and sales working together to close large, complex deals at a specific number of target accounts. The accounts focused on by ABM strategies are chosen deliberately based on the monetary and strategic value they can provide to your organization along with the difficulty closing them poses. The process of selecting those target companies adds a new stage to the start of the inbound marketing process. Before you start to attract, engage and delight ABM target accounts, you must first identify them.
Some B2B marketers tell me they think account-based marketing (ABM) will eventually replace demand marketing. Some think ABM is just a new buzzword for the data-driven demand marketing they have always practiced. Others tell me that demand marketing and ABM are completely different strategies that should exist on their own within a company. To me, all of these different viewpoints are rooted in the fact that the B2B marketing ecosystem is in a state of rapid evolution and innovation and that’s fantastic for those of us in the B2B marketing profession!
For B2B companies around the world, one of the biggest challenges is finding big clients and closing deals successfully. In the last few years, Account-Based Marketing (ABM) has emerged as a preferred marketing solution for B2B brands. It is a marketing technique that involves creating customized and focused campaigns based on the individual needs and pain points of specific clients. While it is definitely effective if you only have a small list of clients you want to target, it restricts you from finding new clients which is exactly where inbound marketing comes in.
Inbound marketing is a technique that focuses on attracting customers to products and services with the help of content that looks both intuitive and valuable to the prospect. This can include social media marketing, content marketing, branding, and search engine optimization. The idea is to solve the already existing problems of the customers and encourage them to make a purchase.
